I need to change out of my work underwear

Sep. 30It’s been a sad, sad week. The weather finally got cooler. I am no longer allowed to wear sundresses. I actually spent the entire week wearing jeans or pants. Wait! I wore a jumper one day with tights. Whew. I thought for a minute there that I may have forgotten my dress-y ways. Tights! Those will be my salvation this winter.

Thanks Nana & Papa, Uncle Scott and Uncle Eric & Aunt Gina and Ella and Grace for coming to visit my for my birthday party! I had so much fun seeing and running around with everyone. And y’all know I love presents. I broke them all out as soon as I got home! I can’t wait to see you all soon!

Oct. 1I am a puddle. Not the raindrop kind. Not the blubbery I-cry-too-much kind (but I can put on a good show when I’m hungry &/or tired). No, this puddle is the one that I drool all over myself because I’m gnawing on anything that I can get my hands on. A toy. A blanket. My clothes. The carseat. My hand. My mom. Yes… anything I can wrap my little teefers around I want to chew it. My face is so wet all the time that it’s become red and chapped. So don’t think that I’m sick or I’ve got frostbite. I got chapped cheeks. When do I get all my teeth? I’m sure the puddles will dry up by then. Oh – and if I look all shiny, that’s the super rich lotion that my Mom is spreading on me to help un-chap my cheeks.

Tubing at sunset

Elise and Elise tubingWhat a fun weekend! And we’re still in the middle of it! It’s Labor Day and we have one more day to play. Saturday Mommy & Daddy’s friend Allison came to visit. She’s a lot of fun. I think she played with me the most. AND… she had a sleepover in my little bed. It was pretty neat to look over at 7am and have another person in my room!

And then yesterday, we packed up the car and went to Lake Geneva to play with Elise! There’s another girl with my name! She’s four and my Daddy and her daddy work together. We went all over the place – played in her house, ate watermelon by the firepit and, best of all, went tubing in the boat! I first tried it out with Daddy, but then I was ready for the real thing. Elise and Elise went around and around the lake until it was too cold, getting too dark and we were too hungry.

sunsetThe day was so fun that I fell asleep in the car and Daddy put me to bed in my clothes!

Hey! I fell asleep in my clothes too! I didn’t wear myself out going tubing, but I got to ride in the boat and watch the sun set on Lake Geneva. It was beautiful… especially since I was enjoying it with a nice cold formula and good friends.

Sep. 5I’ve been napping a lot lately. I fall asleep in the darndest places too. On the floor of my jungle gym. On Mommy & Daddy’s bed (I was there for 5 minutes and… out). On couches and in my swing too. I sleep and I eat! In addition to my cereal two times a day, I’ve been testing new fruits and vegetables. Green beans… they’re ok. Carrots… like ‘em. Bananas… love ‘em! Popsicles…AWESOME!

Have I ever mentioned drooling? Specifically, myself and drooling in the same sentence. No? I have an explanation for it now… teeth. I got me some. Two of ‘em. They’re not quite showing yet, but the sharp little things are there and should prove to be useful soon when I’m devouring a freshly grilled steak. Watch me.

Wait for it… Wait for it…

Aug. 14It’s been a hot one this week! Hot and humid. I’ve taken to wearing dresses 24/7 because there’s a cool breeze in there. And what do you do when you wear a dress? You DANCE! We have the coolest radio in our kitchen and it plays all our songs. Mommy has some really good dance songs in the playlist so I like to use the remote to turn it up real loud and dance and sing my heart out. Mommy caught me dancing on video, but because I was sans said dress, we’ll keep it in our home library. (This is a family blog you know.)

Besides our usual fun park and gymnastics activities, I also had a sleepover at Kay’s house with Maddie! We stayed up late playing princesses and got to sleep in the living room. It was awesome. No boys allowed, but it was nice to see Evan when he came back the next day.

Aug. 15Where’s my hand? Why are you taking my hand away? I want to eat my hand. I want to eat my shirt. I’ll eat your hand. Gimme a toy! Mommy says teeth are coming otherwise I wouldn’t be trying to chew on everything. How long does it take for these teeth things to get here? I’m running out of dry clothes.

Matter of fact, I’m running out of clothes altogether. I’m not even 5 months old and I’m not fitting into clothes for babies twice my age. Fortunately, I have an awesome Nana and a good shopper Mom. To make sure I keep my end of the growing bargain, I think that I’ll be adding some veggies to my food regimen too. Look for me on the field at the next Badger/Wolverine game… I may be playing soon.
